Birds and Butterflies

Here are some recent nature pictures, while the weather is too hot for sewing.

This fluffy chap was snapped on my choisya bush, enjoying a bit of sunshine. 

 Meanwhile, the young blackbird has taken to cooling off in the water dish, causing a good splash every time

Down on the lake, there have been lots of young birds this year. This proud greylag
mum is keeping her family close on one of their first ventures into the water. I like their little feet stuck out at the back.

Meanwhile the coot family are getting the hang of it, and look like they will soon be off in all directions.

While these geese just want to snuggle down for a nap - after a bit of preening, of course.
